I painted this mural as part of Tauranga's Love Our Laneway's project in 2018. The theme for the event was Sustainability & Identity. The stylistic guidelines for artists were 'urban jungle' and combining 2D & 3D elements.

This mural is about renewable energy. Within the composition is a taniwha warning against over use of non-renewable sources. The whale is a significant icon featuring prominently in many local legends in particular the former pa site of Mangatawa.
